Where Should you Put your Explainer Video on your Website?

You have your explanative video – step one is complete! We’re glad you finally took the step to highlight your company, service or product in another way. So now you’re thinking..what next? Well you need to get that up on your website! But where? And what if I have multiple explainer videos? Fear not, dear friend, here are some tips that explain where the best video placement is on your website.

  • Yes, place it right on your homepage. The reason you made this explainer video is so that people will watch it and learn more about your business. So don’t worry if it takes up some space on your homepage — it’s supposed to!
  • Put a teaser letting people know that your video isn’t two hours long. We are busy and important, so let us know hey, this video is only two minutes and will explain our company. Take a look at our homepage:

Revolution Production uses a large central video placement for its homepage.

60 seconds…that’s all it takes to see why we’re the best. That’s right, I said the best.

  • So you have a couple explanatory videos. Don’t put them all in a row on your homepage – that is visually overwhelming. You have a couple of video placement options here: create a portfolio or scatter them on your site, perhaps including one per page.
  • Really consider your autoplay choice. This is when your video plays automatically, without the user clicking on the play button. It bothers a lot of people, since all of a sudden they are racing for the mute button, but it can be effective when used correctly.

Was that helpful? Any other tips leave them in the comment section for us!
