So You’ve Produced a Video…Now What? Promote!

Alright, you have big news to share, you published your video, optimized the content and now you want people talking about it. How are you going to make that happen? Luckily for you, I’m in the sharing mood, so here are some promotional strategies to get people talking about your business (and your videos).

Social Media: Share with your community through mediums like Facebook and Twitter, and research to see if there are other forums you should participate in. Your tone can be more personable with your audience, even in a business setting. For example, you could post that it would mean a lot to you if your audience would review or “like” your work.

PR: This you may have to outsource, but utilizing a public relations agency is always handy, especially if the news is big such as a launch of your viral video production company. PR firms can handle both the traditional and social media for you, if you just don’t have time. And who among us does?

Email: This is a tricky one, since users may find emails as a nuisance or spam. Unless you have a newsletter system or an established audience, I would be wary of email. If you think your audience would prefer this promotion strategy make sure to be very personable, timely and not SPAMMY.

Word of Mouth: There is nothing wrong with reaching out to friends and family and second cousins and the neighborhood grocery store. You would be surprised how fast word-of-mouth spreads news or viral videos(especially when they’re good…like ours). Use your imagination, depending on the content, go ahead make a street team or just walk around showing people your videos, the responses may surprise you.
