How to Create a Call to Action in your Online Video

We have said it time and time again: End with a FANTASTIC call to action in your online videos.Good, you listened. The problem is now you really want to wow your viewers, but you aren’t too sure how to do this. Don’t worry, loyal reader, Revolution Productions is here to the rescue. We’re going to lay out some tips on how your web video advertising can have a dynamic call to action and produce real leads and opportunities.

Here’s how to create a call to action in your online video:

1. Clearly include contact information. I don’t need your mailing address or fax, but I do need to know where to go next. Should I go directly to your website? Or is this online video ad addressing a promotion your company is having? Don’t make me work for it, I’m lazy, and I just want the information given to me.

2. Come on, entice me! If I go to the website you tell me to, is there more information? Is there another promo deal there? Can I request a quote, can I email you, what will I find? You have to work a bit to get your viewers to take that next step, so tell them about the wonderfully fantastic amazingness that they’ll find when they do take your call to action.

3. Keep it simple and clean. Look at this Call to Action we did for our client Official.FM:

Easy Peasy: Sign up and the website. There is nothing more needed for this client, because we want customers to simply go to the website and sign up. That’s it! Don’t make it complicated by having three links, too much information, or too many directions. We like it simple and straightforward.

Oh this isn’t enough for you? Want to take it one step further? Ok you daredevil, for those advanced in creating online videos, put a call to action button near the video. This can lead to your website, a contact forum, or any site you want really…but please make it relevant.
